Scope of what we offer
House 137 retreats are educational, evidence-informed wellbeing programmes. They are not medical or psychiatric treatment, not psychotherapy, and not crisis or emergency care. Nothing on this site or in our materials is medical advice or a diagnosis, and nothing here should delay you seeking advice from a qualified professional. We do not offer, use or facilitate psychedelic substances of any kind.
Screening and clinical governance
Everyone completes a health questionnaire as part of applying. It is reviewed by clinically responsible staff before a place is offered, and is held separately from the rest of your record with restricted access. We work to written clinical governance: defined scope of practice, supervision, documented risk assessment, referral routes, and incident review. Where a retreat is not the right or safe setting for someone, we say so and, where we can, point to more appropriate support.
Consent and boundaries
Participation in every activity is voluntary and you can step out at any time without having to explain. We ask for consent explicitly, we explain what an activity involves before it starts, and we hold clear professional boundaries around touch, privacy, group confidentiality and staff–participant relationships.
Safeguarding and emergency planning
We have a named safeguarding lead and a duty to act where an adult or child may be at risk of harm; in those situations we may need to share information without consent, and we will tell you where it is safe to do so. Each retreat location has a written emergency plan: nearest medical facility, first-aid trained staff on site, local emergency numbers, and a documented route for contacting your emergency contact.
